DESCRIPTION:Each year\, the Muskegon County Latino Festival brings more than 5\,000 community members together for a day of celebration. This year we are intentionally paying homage to our roots\, assenters and celebrating “Nuestras Raises” our roots from latinoamericana prehepatic indigenous civilization by bringing to the Muskegon. \nThe MCLF is our largest fundraiser of LWFTF which helps us fund our programs\, such as\, college tours\, scholarships for graduating high school students and current college and technical students\, small business grants\, and educational presentations. As the only Latino non-profit organization in Muskegon County it is more than ever imperative that we continue investing and creating a direct impact into building a welcoming community\, a place where everyone feels like they are seen\, celebrated and able to feel at home; a community where we belong. \nLearn More

DESCRIPTION:Join Latinos Working For The Future for our next workshop! On June 1st\, 2024\, Attorney Meghan Moore of Avanti Law Group will be presenting a workshop titled “Know Your Rights”. The workshop will cover what happens when immigration knocks at your door and/or when you are in ICE custody. In addition\, Attorney Meghan will discuss immigration in general\, such as\, who can apply for becoming a United States Citizen. \nAttorney Meghan Moore of Avanti Law Group is a founding partner and manages Avanti’s immigration practice. She attended law school with the sole intention in becoming an immigration lawyer and now devotes her practice exclusively to that area of the law. Meghan focuses her practice on family-based immigration\, U and T visas\, and waivers of inadmissibility. She is proud to have advised individuals\, families\, farmworkers\, small businesses\, Fortune 500 Corporations\, universities\, professional athletes and artists\, and renowned scientists in all immigration matters. \nThe workshop will be presented in Spanish and is free to attend with lunch being provided.
